Right well I got my computer back, minus a hard drive. If anyone knows a company that are able to repair hard drive mechanics let me know, as the problem is apparently not software/file related.
Anyway I knocked up a short mini ramp montage for your viewing pleasure.

sickness! glad to see some part of the computer is up and running. it can be expensive recovering a harddrive (mine died a couple of years ago). if you have all the footage still on tape, etc and just need to re-capture it then i'd do that. its time consuming but way cheaper. otherwise google for a local data recovery company and cross your fingers...
